He could have been anywhere. The very pregnant Delilah searched the land, hoping to find her beloved mate. "Kenyan..." she called softly. Her contractions were getting worse. She winced as another one nearly knocked her off her feet, but kept walking. Images flashed across her mind as she remembered the fire. It had been so sudden. Where was Kenyan? Had he escaped the fire? She shuddered at the thought of losing her true love to the terrible blaze. Would she ever see her beloved mate again? Would he meet his pups? She remembered the fire...
The blaze had nearly taken their entire land. Kenyan was nowhere to be seen and Delilah was taken with terror. Her eyes wide, she ran the opposite direction of the out-of-control fire. It seemed as if there was no where to go. Her stomach bulged with unborn pups, and she knew her due date would be soon. She ran, knowing that this could only send her into labor, but also that if she didn't, she would lose her pups in the fire, as well as her own life. Determined to survive, determined to save her unborn children, Delilah ran as fast as she could. Wolves were running everywhere, and the farther she went, the closer they seemed to being free. She could only hope her mater had escaped as well.
Delilah opened her eyes and finally laid down in the valley. If Kenyan could find her scent then he could find her, right? And she knew without a doubt that he loved her and would try as hard as he could to find her. He would never leave her to birth these pups alone, let alone raise them, if he could help it. With this tiny shred of hope, she closed her eyes again, bracing for another contraction, and prayed he would find her in time.

ooc: I hope you don't mind me posting here.
Jupiter's Love walked slowly, her paws of dark brown gently touching the land of grass. The land was cool and it made Juive feel comfortable under her thick coat. She felt a slight breeze and smiled as it ran through her fur, making her fur ripple slightly as she walked. She looked around and then scented a wolf. She stopped and sniffed the air again, the scent once more returning to her nostrils. She was sure she smelt a wolf, a female wolf at that. She smiled and wagged her mighty tail gently as her walk increased to a lope. A friend, I found a friend! She walked quicker, her paws barely touching the ground as she reached the scent source.
Then she paused.
The she wolf seemed to be in an immense amount of pain and Juive twitched her ears of brown and black. She didn't know what was wrong with the wolf and she didn't know how to help the wolf either. She could hear the laboured breathing of the wolf and she felt like leaving, she didn't want to bother her. Yet, she couldn't leave a wolf in pain, especially not a she wolf. She saw the she wolf's body shake slightly and she remembered seeing her sister in that kind of pain before. When she was giving birth to pups... Juive's eyes opened wide and she nudged the she wolf slightly. How may I help you? You seem to be having pups, can I assist you in anyway? Her voice rang true and clear as she asked the wolf for help. Surely her mate must be nearby, no mate ever left his pups and mate alone, unless he was dead. She needed to help the she-wolf give birth or else she would die too, leaving the pups to die themselves. It was a thought Juive couldn't bear to think of.

The pain Delilah experienced was getting worse. She closed her mouth and her eyes and took a deep breath as another contraction happened. Something, a wolf maybe, was approaching her. She could smell it, and hear the footsteps of it. Suddenly, fear ran through her. Her eyes opened wide. What if it was a male? What if it was a female who wanted her pups? Before the fire, a wolf had tried to steal her pups away and nearly gotten another wolf killed in the process. She shuddered to think of this happening again. She braced herself, ready to spring to her feet, should they try and hurt her. It didn't smell familiar, and therefore it wasn't Kenyan. Oh how she wished he were here...
The wolf turned out to be female. When the wolf arrived, she seemed to be eager to help, in any way possible. She asked if she could help as she approached her. "What's your name?" Delilah asked, sighing. She hadn't even started pushing and she was already exhausted. How was she supposed to do this? And without her mate! "Kenyan..." she sighed, barely audible. If something happened to him...she couldn't bear to imagine that.
Delilah suddenly felt the need to push. No! Not without Kenyan! she thought, closing her eyes and trying to think clearly. Surely he must be nearby. He would find her. She was sure of it. He had to be here for the birth of their first litter..
(It's fine. ).

Juive watched the female closely as she shuddered in more pain. She needed to help, had to help. Her sister had almost died while birthing pups and Taelia had remembered every move her mother had made so she could one day save a wolf as well. My name is Juive. I do not want to harm you. I want to help you with your pups. I will not steal them or harm them. Promise. She heard the she wolf whisper a name and she wondered if that was her mate. Juive nudged the she wolf and spoke calmly to her. Holding in the pups will harm them and yourself. I am sorry your mate is not here. She wished she could find the mate but no matter where she looked so saw no other wolf, just them two.
Juive say the wolf close her eyes as if she was in pain and she knew what must be done. Push.] Juive said firmly but calmly. This she wolf must understand that keeping the pups from being born would harm them all and maybe kill her. Come on, push. Juive coaxed her over and over, she wanted all the pups to be ok and this wolf had to be ok, she was beautiful so she must live.

Delilah shook her head, but she knew the wolf was right. "Thank you Juive. I'm Delilah." She finally decided that she couldn't wait for Kenyan any longer. It had to happen now. Delilah suddenly wondered if maybe they were early? She wasn't sure how long it was supposed to take, because really her mom had never told her. Candice...mom... Did her mother make it out? The stress was becoming too much. Delilah finally gave in and pushed. She held her breath as she did, refusing to make any noise while she gave birth. Predators could hear her and she knew it was safest to do this quickly and quietly.
Tiny squeals broke the silence as the first pup was born. Delilah, nearly crying with the joy of seeing her first child, immediately went to cleaning the tiny white male. She glanced at Juive briefly, and knew she could trust the wolf. The first pup started to nurse and Delilah wished so badly that Kenyan could be here to see the birth. But it wasn't about him right now. It was about the pups. Juive was right, and Delilah couldn't argue with that.
Another contraction, and Delilah started to push again. Moments later, a second pup was born. A little gray female with blue eyes. Time ticked by slowly, and finally it was over. Four pups lay in a row. Two male, two female. The first was the white male with golden eyes, then the gray female. Then two more which were twins, both having a cream/brown color. Delilah marveled at her new pups, surprised because she had thought they'd all be white like Kenyan and herself. But then, who knew what her dad looked like, and Kenyan's parents were not white either. She looked at Juive. "I wish Kenyan could see this...thank you for being here, though."

Juive smiled as the pups were born. The first squealed his little lungs off before suckling. Juive went to help but this wolf, Deliliah, seemed to be doing just fine. She had 4 wolves yet only one was the colour of the she wolf. The others were gray and creamy brown. Juive thought about the colour of the father that could make these wolves. She watched them suckle happily and felt a tug within her, she wanted pups but couldn't have any, not yet. She watched them happily and couldn't help but wish they were hers. She heard the she wolf speak and she nodded. I am glad I got to see these pups be born. They are beautiful Delilah.
Juive watched them suckle and noted that two were female and two were male. The males would great fighters, they had that look to them. The females seemed beautiful as well. Everything was good right now and she was glad to see that Delilah wasn't too weak. May I ask what colour their father is? She couldn't think of any wolf that could make white, gray, and creamy brown coloured pups. I can't think of one single colour that could make all these pups these different colours.

Delilah laid her head back with a sigh as the pups nursed. Juive expressed that she was happy to see them be born and that they were beautiful. That made her smile. Juive was nice, and she hoped that Kenyan would be able to meet her eventually. She asked about the father. "I was wondering that as well...Kenyan is white like myself. But he was the only white pup in his litter, so they must get it from his side." Delilah wasn't sure how genetics worked, but she figured that Kenyan must have carried the brown coloring in his genes. That didn't explain the gray puppy, but she was too tired to think about it. She wanted to sleep, but she was too worried about the pups safety, and about Juive leaving to sleep now.
Honestly, Delilah wanted Juive to stay. Though she barely knew the wolf, she had proved to be trustworthy so far, and she knew that without Kenyan around, she was an easy target for wolves, and others who might wish to harm her beautiful pups. Juive was her only protection right now, and there was no way Delilah could defend herself in this state. She blinked slowly, but stayed awake.

Juive listened and heard of Kenyan's siblings. That makes sense now. She watched the pups for a moment and then got up, she stretched her body and looked around for any predators. She saw none, still no creatures except for Delilah, Juive, and her pups. She walked around in a circled and noticed how tired Delilah looked. Juive knew she had to sleep so she offered the best help she could. Do you want me to watch your pups while you sleep? She knew Delilah might not accept her offer so she decided to keep speaking.
I am a fine fighter and I can easily take down most things that would even look at your pups. You should sleep. They will be safe. Juive looked at the pups as the nursed and the little white one pushed the gray one aside. They were fighting for the same teat. Juive smiled and shook her head, never would she understand pups. She hoped Delilah would accept her offer. She looked exhausted and if she didn't sleep then she wouldn't be able to take care of herself nevermind all her pups.

Juive offered to watch the pups and Delilah smiled She started to shake her head, but the kind she-wolf continued to speak. Her words were a comfort, and sleep was already beginning to take Delilah over. Between the birth and all the running she'd done lately, it was no wonder she was so exhausted. She rolled onto her side and nodded. "Okay...thank you so much," Delilah said, grateful. It didn't take long for her to drift into her subconscious. Her dreams would not surprise her. Kenyan...her pups...all together back home. The meadow....oh how she missed it. And Kenyan's parents. Her mom and Quigley. She sighed in her sleep. If Kenyan was alive, he would find her... this thought continued in her mind. If he was alive...
The warmth of the sun on her side provided a deep sleep. Though she was in the open with four newborn pups, she felt safe. She truly believed Juive would protect her and the young wolves. She only hoped that Kenyan would come and meet Juive, and maybe let her join them if he decided to claim this land. She couldn't really go anywhere else now anyway. They were stuck here, at least for the time being. So she and Kenyan would either be alphas here, or join the pack.
As the time passed, Delilah felt more and more rejuvenated. When she finally woke, and check on each of the pups who were curled up beside her, sleeping. Then she blinked and looked for Juive.

She had noticed that Delilah was waking and while Delilah was waking Juive went for a run. She ran through the tall grass and through all the dirt. She loved getting dirty and you could never notice dirt upon her coat. She ran free and as she went to keep running she came across a rabbit. She slid to a quiet stop and she watched the rabbit closely. She closed her eyes for a moment to focus her powers and she lifted some rocks around the rabbit. The rabbit looked up and as it looked around she lunged on it. She grabbed it and killed it quickly, blood staining her paws slightly. She shook it to make sure it was dead and walked back to Delilah.
She was awake and looking for her by the looks of it. Juive dropped the brown rabbit at Delilah's muzzle and smiled. I figured you would be hungry. She wiped the blood off her muzzle and looked around. Nothing has been here except for you, me, and the pups. I have see no other wolf, just prey. She wanted to find Delilah's mate for her, that would make Delilah her friend for sure!

Spring had a way of making everything beautiful. As Delilah looked for Juive, she stood, stretched, and admired the beauty that surrounded her. The flowers were all in bloom, and everything was fresh and green. Something caught Delilah's attention and pulled it away from the scenery. She sniffed the air. Blood? Then she saw Juive returning with a rabbit in her jaws. She smiled a greeting and sat beside her pups. Juive dropped the rabbit at her feet. I figured you would be hungry. Delilah's stomach growled. As much as she wanted to be polite and insist that Juiva have the rabbit, the smell was getting to her, and her instincts took over. She nodded to Juive and laid down, placing her paws on top of the rabbit to hold it in place. "Thank you, so much," she said to Juive. She had given nothing to this wolf, and yet she had been so kind to her. She bit into the rabbit and savored the taste of the fresh meat. It didn't take long to finish it off.
Delilah licked her ivory paws clean and checked to make sure the pups were okay. They were all still sleeping. "So are you alone, or do you have a pack?" she asked the kind she-wolf. If she could be here this long, watching over Delilah, than maybe she didn't have anywhere to be. If Kenyan eventually claimed this land, Juive could possibly join them. That is, if she wanted to. And Delilah knew that if she did, she would repay Juive by making her beta female.

She watched Delilah eat and smiled at her thank you. The pups slept in the warm sun as Juive sat there enjoying it herself. She loved the sun, it made her feel warm and fuzzy and it seemed to help her with her powers. She gently lifted a pebble with her powers and moved it around slowly before she looked at Delilah. I am without a pack. I have heard of some Alpha claiming females for his new pack but I have not seen him. She looked around, hoping to see any other wolf but once again there was nothing.
The sun danced upon her coat as Juive played with the earth. She lifted a patch of grass, roots and dirt included, and moved it. She then moved it back into place. She knew the extent of her powers were way more than that yet she never went above that, she had no reason to. She moved pebbles around and spelt her name with them and smiled. She then spelt Delilah's name with some pebbles and she looked at the pups. Her favourite was the gray female so she sat there and thought of a name for it, what she would call it if it had been hers. She thought of how it must be a pure wolf because they didn't look like wolves with power so she had to think of an interesting yet unique name for it. She smiled and looked at Delilah. I thought of a name for the gray female. She spelt it out with pebbles infront of Delilah's meal. The pebbles neatly spelt out the name Dynasty. Juive smiled, it had a ring to it that sounded powerful yet kind. I think it is a unique name. She looked back at the pups who were squirming ever so slightly.

Delilah watched with interest as Juive moved the earth around. She listened carefully as she spoke. "I hadn't heard of that..." she said, speaking of the alpha that had been claiming females. "Then again, I'm not from around here." She thought of the flat-lands she had lived in before. It had been the place she and Kenyan had gone when they decided to start their own pack. They had left their parents back in the land they had grown up in. Truth be told, she had loved the meadow, and it had broken her heart, leaving her mother, Quigley, and Kenyan's widowed mother, Zira. But she had thought she'd raise their future pups there. If only she'd know there would be a fire...she would have never left that meadow.
Juive moved some pebbles around and Delilah watched carefully. She smiled as she spelled out, first her name, and then Delilah's own. I thought of a name for the gray female... she said as the pebbles moved again. They spelled out Dynasty. Delilah looked at the little female, the smallest of the bunch. She smiled and looked at Juive. "It suits her," she replied. She looked back at the tiny gray pup. Dynasty. "I like it," Delilah smiled. Dynasty squirmed in her sleep and then sighed. Delilah grinned as she watched her daughter. Then something out of the corner of her eye moved.
A white wolf stopped far in the valley. Delilah could barely make it out to be a wolf. But her heart dropped when the figure started running towards them. She closed her eyes and hoped it was Kenyan and not a stranger. When she opened her eyes, the figure had stopped again. But Delilah leapead to her feet when she recognized the white wolf. "Mom..." she whispered, quietly enough that there was no way Candice could hear her.
Candice's eyes swam with tears as she again started running towards her daughter. Delilah met her halfway, crying as well. "Delilah!" Candice sobbed. She rested her head on Delilah's back and her daughter did the same. "I'm so glad you're okay," Delilah whispered. Candice laughed softly.
After their greeting, Delilah turned and looked at Juive and then the pups. She trotted, Candice following, over to the pups. "Mom, this is Juive," she said, looking at her new friend. "And...well, these are your grandpups." She smiled and looked at her babies. Candice gasped, and laid down beside them. "They're gorgeous," she cooed. "Where's Kenyan?" she asked, looking at her daughter. Delilah smile faded and she stared at the ground. "I don't know..."

The words of approval from Delilah made Juive pleased. She had thought of a good name for a pup and now that was the pup's name. She smiled, she had named a pup all by herself. It was then that Juive smelt another wolf. She dropped the pebbles she had been playing with and looked at the white wolf far off in the distance. She stood up and prepared herself to attack as the wolf neared. She scented the air and realized the wolf was female so she decided to wait and see what the she wolf did first. Then she heard Delilah whisper Mom? Juive looked at Delilah and sat down, taking a calm stance.
As the wolf got closer and closer she held her stance but was prepared to attack. She lifted some pebbles carefully and scattered them so she could use them to attack as well. Then the she wolf started to run and with tears in her eyes she greeted Delilah. Juive calmed herself and dropped all the pebbles as she looked at the wolves embrace. She wished her mother was still around as she saw them. She looked away to give them privacy and looked back when Delilah introcuded her. Juive bowed and smiled. The grandmother admired the pups and Juive couldn't help but notice that the mother and daughter were the same colour, something that never happened with her and her mother. Then the question of Kenyan arrived. Where is he? Juive watched Delilah's reaction and she knew that Kenyan was either dead or lost.

(OOC I'm switching to first person-Delilah)
"What do you mean?" Candice asked. I sighed and shook my head. "The fire. Everyone was running and he wasn't around. I haven't seen him since we left." Mom shook her head and sighed. "I don't know where Quig is either..." she said. I recognized the pain in her voice. I had heard that often growing up. But not since she and Quigley fell in love. I gave her a sympathetic look and then remembered Juive. "Quigley is her mate...my step-dad, though I consider him to be my dad." I informed her. Mom shook her head. "I wish I knew were he was..." she sighed. But she brightened up, I assumed for Juive. "Do you have any family?" she asked.
I curled up around the pups and watched as first Dynasty, and then the rest started to wake. I watched the little brown male yawn and I smiled. I was a mom... Kenyan had been so excited about the pups. And now he was gone. But where? I refused to believe he was dead. There was no way I would ever believe that. Mom and Juive...it was probably what they were thinking. I remembered when Kenyan's dad had disappeared. I had believed he was alive, but everyone else knew the truth. This is different, I thought as the pups started to nurse again.
