Claiming The Land

Savvy walked into the land of snow and ice and smiled softly. The land was cool and calming and the snow felt cold against his blackened paw pads. He examined the lands and thought of what to do. He scented no wolves and no enemies. Yet, he scented lots of prey. He could see the snow rabbits and the deer running about. Snow rabbits blended nicely to the surroundings while deer, reindeer as he had heard before, stood out boldly. He looked at the nastly antlers and knew to avoid them as a meal until he had a pack put together. The shine shone nicely upon the land. The sun danced upon the crusted snow and ice and it danced upon the caves that his pack would live in. Here is where he would call home. He would find females and bring them back, find males and allow them into his pack. All could join as long as they agreed to let Savvy rule over them.The diamond caves lit up amazingly and as he walked within he saw the diamonds glittering within the walls, the sun making them appear multicoloured one moment and then clear and white the next. The sun played tricks on your eyes in this land, he would have to remember that.

He examined the caves and knew where he would live, the largest cave. There was 5 caves in total and he knew what each cave would hold. One, the largest and most beautiful, would be his and his mate's. They would live there with their pups and it would be at that cave that he would call pack meetings. His cave was located in the middle of all the caves. The next cave, the first on the right of his, would hold the Betas. They could live there with their pups and they would be able to help Savvy when needed. The next cave, the first on the left of his, would hold the pregnant wolves and pups. Savvy's ruling would be different than most. He would allow all members of the pack to breed provided that they had enough food to survive the months of poor prey. He might even mate with worthy females that weren't his mate, as long as they could support the pups and his mate agreed to it. Maybe he wouldn't have a mate at all, just breed with females and choose his most worthy son to rule. He shook his head to clear his thoughts and looked back at the caves. The next cave, beside the Betas' cave would hold the members of the pack. It was fairly large and within there was diamonds sparkling nicely on the walls, something hispack would enjoy. The last cave, the one beside the pregnant wolves cave would be to hold prey. They could stockpile prey in autumn before the fierce winter came. They would have enough prey to last all winter and it would freeze instead of rot. He smirked, his land was all figured out.

He turned and walked over to a rock that stood out on an odd angle. He stood ontop of it, he pointed his muzzle to the sky and let a long, deep howl out of his azure muzzle. He waited for a reply and he watched reindeer and rabbits look at him. He smiled and knew the land was his. He saw the patches of melted snow and saw grass yet the land around the diamond caves remained iced and snowy.
I claim these lands as Savvy's. I shall rule here with an iron paw. I shall defend it with my mind, body, and heart. This land will populate with wolves of ice, earth, and whatever else wish to live here. Pups will train here and my ruling will be different than most yet almost the same. I shall respect all prey and creatures within the land and only eat what I and my pack need. May the wolven gods look over my land and bless me with leadership while I do what I can to protect what I love.

His voice rang true, clear, and deep as it echoed across the land and into his newly claimed diamond caves. This land was now his, the caves were now his, the prey within were now his. This was his land and he would do whatever it took to protect it.[/center][/size]

``Savvy

An Alphess At Last

Savvy walked into his land with pride. He paused and let a howl escape him before he contined on his way. He had an Alphess, a beautiful Earth wolf. He walked past some of the reindeer and they scattered. He knew he would have to catch one for Maya as a treat and as a way to say thank you. Another howl escaped him and he smiled, he was so happy to be with her. Together they walked past some rabbits and they scattered as well, hiding in their homes. Savvy chuckled, rabbits amused him. He looked at the stream that was slowly thawing and he smiled as he saw the stream run slowly. Slow enough to stand in and not be moved. He wouldn't stand in the stream though, it was still too cold.

They walked slowly and soon came to his home. Their home. Ice surrounded the caves as diamonds sparkled within. Savvy smiled. Maya should love this place. Savvy stopped before the caves and looked to Maya to see what she had to say. I love these lands. The largest cave is ours. Please make yourself comfortable as I go hunting. I will be back soon.[/color] Savvy nuzzled Maya's shoulder nicely before setting off to hunt. He walked back along the stream for a moment and found the reindeer. His mind began to calculate as he thought of how to take it down. He selected his deer, a big male, and he set his plan in action.

Savvy jumped out from behind some bushes and all the reindeer scattered. He found his deer and quickly set up a wall of ice around it. He saw the others leave over the hill and he walked over to the reindeer he wanted. It cried and lashed out with sharp hooves at him. Savvy waited for it to tire itself out, which seemed to take hours. He then attacked, quickly killing it without injury to himself. He let a howl out to say he had caught his meal and then he began his journey back. He dragged the reindeer very carefully and tried his best not to leave a blood trail. He arrived back at the caves and gently lie the reindeer down for him and Maya to eat. I have caught us a luxury meal. I hope you don't mind. He then waited for Maya to beginning eating before he did.[/size]

Maya

I followed Savvy into the land, smiling at the new sights; the sights of my new home. Surroundings that would soon become familiar. Savvy led me to the caves, and explained which would be ours. I smiled, listening as he told me he'd be going to hunt for us. I wondered if he would need help, but he seemed to want to do it for me. He's thoughtful, I thought, watching him leave. When he was out of sight, I started to look around. Most of the caves were a good size, but I found the one Savvy had spoken about. It was pretty big, but also small enough to be comfortable. I walked inside and took a deep breath. "Home," I sighed.

I took a short walk outside, enjoying the ice caves. It was chilly, but my thick coat kept me comfortably warm. I heard Savvy howl so I trotted back to the main caves and settled near the front. Savvy returned with a reindeer. I looked it over, impressed. "You must be strong, as well as a good hunter," I said, smiling at him. My golden eyes found and scanned the reindeer again. My mouth watered, looking at it. He asked if it was okay. "Is it okay?" I chuckled. "It's great."

Savvy seemed to be waiting, so I stepped forward and took a bite of the reindeer. The blood, the warm meat, they filled my mouth. It was delicious. I took another bite and waited for Savvy to join in.


(Eh. Not as long as I was hoping for...)
